BRONER, Charles H. Of Canton, formerly of Belmont, Falmouth, and Boynton Beach, FL, died peacefully surrounded by loving family, at age 96, on September 2, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Shirley Kramer Broner for 61 happy years. Devoted father of Emily and Eli Rubenstein of Newton and Cynthia and Audrey Broner, both of Cambridge. Cherished grandfather of Isaac and Michelle Rubenstein, Abigail and Maxwell Bogue, Maya and Justin Florence, and Adam Alperowicz and fianc?e Sydney Cohen. Treasured great grandfather of Jesse Rubenstein and Sasha and Isabel Florence, and "Uncle Cha" to a large and loving extended family. Dear friend and companion of Bernice Saxe of Canton. Born in Hartford, Charlie grew up in Chelsea, Winthrop, and Dorchester. He served in the US Army during World War II, after which he became a certified public accountant and founded his own firm. He was an avid golfer, a master of the pun, and unfailingly upbeat and positive, winning the hearts of everyone he met. Services at the Levine Chapel, 470 Harvard Street, BROOKLINE on Tuesday, September 6 at 11 am. Interment at Sharon Memorial Park. Shiva after interment at Orchard Cove, Canton until 5 pm, continuing at the home of Emily & Eli Rubenstein on Tuesday, 7-9 pm and on Wednesday & Thursday, 1-5 & 7-9 pm.
