I served as a School Counselor from 1979-1984 at BSD ; and, Fr Murphy was my Supervisor. I liked him as a person, as a Supervisor, and as a humble man of God.

Father Murphy's AHIHA family will greatly miss this wonderful man. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family. We will miss our annual discussions at AHIHA on Notre Dame football. So many teams are going to be blessed with that "extra player" now. We know you were there when Boston won!!! Thanks for touching our lives.

I didn't know that Father murphy was passed away two week ago. Sad! I remembered him when I often went to go to church at Lady of Lourdes in Revere, Ma. Then I never seen him long time since before church was closed. So I was so sorry to hear about him. May he rest in peace and Lord bless with him.

It was always a pleasure to see Fr. Murphy's smiling face and spend some time discussing his faith in God as well as his love of hockey. His Sunday night Mass and blessings at the annual AHIHA banquet will be missed.

I am the nephew of a clasmate from the seminary of Fr. Murphy. My uncle, Fr. Gerald Hickey was a a friend of his. Tomorrow he will be in my prayers and my uncle will be there for his funeral. May the Lord bless the soul of this fine man.

Father Murphy will be remembered for his 8:00 AM mass at St.Helen's. His sermon was on target, his humor was quick and his enthusiasm for the "oldies but goodies" hymns made our Sundays special. I REMEMBER FR. CHARLES MURPHY AT BOSTON SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF . I WAS A FORMER STUDENT AT BSD FROM 1966 TO 1974 . I LEFT BSD IN 1974 .
I AM WELL KNOWN AT BSD DURING MY SCHOOL YEARS THERE. I KNOW MANY TEACHERS AND STUDENTS.
SADLY HE WILL BE MISSED AND IT WAS SAD BSD CLOSED IN 1994 .
MY PARENTS AND THOUGHTS ARE WITH FR CHARLES MURPHY AND HIS FAMILY.
I HAD LOTS OF GOOD MEMORIES AT BSD.

Hi, my name is Lawrence R Cummings Jr. I was very sad to hear of Father Murphy's passing. He was a true friend, advocate to me. I could always' count on him in my time of need. I attended St Bartholmew Parish in Needham where he was a weekend celebrent. His sermons were alway's filled with humor and were captivating. I send my condolences to the Murphy family. I am very saddened to learn of Father Murphy's passing. He was my uncle's best friend, growoing up in Cambridge, my "summer parish" priest for a while in Revere and presided at my wedding. His reassuring, steady and welcoming presence will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace

I am saddened by the death of this old friend and lovely priest. He was a great source of humor and joy whether he was playing raquetball, basketball or hockey. He was also a wonderful example to young men, as an apostle of the Faith -- in action.

I am sorry to hear about the passing of Fr. Murphy. I knew him as the humble, funny priest at the Waterfront Chapel and was oblivious to the dedication and sacrifice he made for the Archdiocese. 'Fr. Murph' was part of my reconversion, and I will always keep him close to my heart. Fr. Murphy, requiescat in pace.

I first met Fr. Murphy as a student at Boston School for the Deaf (BSD). I still can remember the face to face confessions; it was always a conversation with a good friend never intimidating. After graduating from BSD I lost touch. Many years later, after the birth of my son, it was Father Murphy that I asked to christen him. Luckily he agreed, it was a private service at St. Francis Xavier, and for many of my extended family it was their first experience with Father Murphy - they still rave about how wonderful he was with all the young children in the church and how be brought them to the alter to be part of the ceremony. Regardless of how much time had passed, he was always welcoming and supportive. I'm thankful for all the wonderful memories. Rest in peace.

Our thoughts and prayers go to the family, relatives and friends of Father Charles Murphy. He was a fun person to be with and had a great sense of humor. He was an All- American guy !!! He was there for all of us when we needed him for support and comfort. He had a great smile and blue sparkling eyes !!! He was everybody's friend !!! He had a great compassion and also a humble man. Thank you for everything, my good friend !!! He will be missed but his great and happy memories remain in our hearts forever. His work is finished and he is now at peace.

Father Murphy's most spiritual Masses were held when he recognized a former deaf student in the church and did the Mass in sign language. Being present in that rare occasion was a great gift. We send our condolences and sympathy to his family and friends.

Fr.Murphy is a part of many happy memories....A group of my friends and I used to visit him every Sunday PM at Our lady of good voyage....We were all crazy about him! He was so kind and his gentle ways and loving smile will not be forgotten.Love and Prayers.

Father Murphy was one in a million! He always had a smile, on his face and in his heart. He would call the little kids "monkey" and be there "high fiving" them after Mass. He emitted the love of Christ, Jesus. He "walked the walk". He was always there with a hug if we needed one and we tried to reciprocate for him on those difficult days. There is a big Hockey Game going on in Heaven - well, after the Bruins win the Stanley Cup! God Bless and Peace be with you and Father Murphy. We love him and will continue to pray with him!!!

Father Murphy will be missed! He was a wonderful person with a wonderful sense of humor. I knew him from the Boston School for the Deaf and he encouraged me to go back to school for an MA in counseling. He performed our wedding and supported us with the children's first communion. It is very sad but now he is at peace.

Fr. Murphy was the reason I returned to the church and stayed. His passion for his Lord and his parisioners was so apparent. His face always lit up when giving his sermon as well as when he was talking about his favorite sports teams. I will miss him greatly.

May Muprh rest in the peace of Christ His Lord and Brother. Murph enfleshed the Gospel and Ministry of Jesus Christ to all those he met and all he ministered to over the years. My family and I came to know him while he was Chaplain at the School for the Deaf. It was there tha the ministered to my nieces, prepared them for the Sacraments, and became close friends to my family. He was one who truly lived what he preached!
May He now know the Peace and Joy of His Lord and Brother.

Father Charile was God's Gift to us at St. Francis Xavier Parish. He was an example for us all of loving kindness and great generosity. The sparkle in his eyes said it all. He loved being a priest and we loved having him with us. We are all so sad that he is no longer with us and we will miss him dearly. May he rest in the Peace of Christ.

We are saddened to hear of Fr. Murphy's passing. To our family, he was more than a priest, he was a friend. When we would see him after mass, he would always talk to us about the Bruins or Red Sox. He presided over our marriage, something he rarely did at St. Francis, according to him, as well as baptized both of our children. Please take comfort knowing he is with God in peace, free from the pain he endured in his final years. We will miss him greatly!

Rev.Charles Murphy was great man, I was been enjoyed with him at Boston school for the deaf also attened AHIHA in chicago. When Deaf people and I went AHIHA for hockey more than 20 years. It was a blessing to know Fr. Murphy at Boston School for the Deaf. I remember when he signed in all of our mass/services and all around the school, basketball games, and fun events. He was a great man with compassion and a great sense of humor. Rest in Peace, knowing we know you were a great priest for 50 years. Thank you for serving God and bringing God to our lives.
