CONCETTA M. "TINA" D'ANGELO Obituary
D'Angelo, Concetta M. "Tina"
87, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on December 22, 2012. Tina was born on December 4, 1925, in Orsogna, Italy to Vincenzo and Maria D'Angelo. She immigrated to the United States with her father in 1938, after the death of her mother, and settled in Everett, MA. She leaves behind her loving husband of 66 years, Joseph, and their children James and his wife Linda (Kahn) of North Andover, Joseph and his wife Kathleen (Skerry) of Middleton, and Marylinda and her husband Michael O'Grady of North Andover. She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren, Joseph D'Angelo and his wife Sarah, Matthew D'Angelo and his wife Angela, Kristina Monk and her husband Robert, David and his companion Ashley Lwowski, and Laura D'Angelo, all who affectionately called her Mimi. She also leaves three great-grandchildren, Christopher, Samantha and Madeline D'Angelo. Concetta had only her father when she came to this country seventy-three years ago. Her driving desire was to build a family and transfer her love based values and traditions to her immediate and extended family. She and Joseph moved to North Andover in 1968 where she continued to extend her love to her neighbors and friends. She was a lifetime member of the Orsogna Womens Club in Everett, serving as treasurer for many years. She was a certified infant cuddler, volunteering her time at the Lawrence General Hospital in the newborn I.C.U. She also volunteered at the North Andover Thrift Shop, only taking time off during the winter months when she and husband Joseph would spent time in Davie, Florida, entertaining a host of friends and relatives around her southern table. She was happiest when her family and friends where at her home around her table enjoying her magnificent meals with lots of conversation and laughter. She will be sadly missed, but we take solace knowing that she resides in all of us through the values she transferred. The family extends special thanks to Beacon Hospice and Fireside Home Health Services who helped care for her at home. Arrangements: Funeral arrangements are being handled by Conte's Funeral Services, Third Street, North Andover. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday, December 27th. Funeral services will be held Friday December 28th at 10 AM at Saint Michael's Church on Main Street in North Andover, MA. Family and Friends may make contributions in honor of Concetta's memory to the Lawrence Boys and Girls Club, 36 Water Street, Lawrence, MA to fund a scholarship in her name.
