Obituary Condolences

PROUT, Curtis M.D. Died peacefully at home in Manchester, Massachusetts, December 2, 2011, at the age of 96. Dr. Prout was born in Swampscott, Massachusetts and grew up in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. He was educated at Chestnut Hill School, Rivers Country Day School, Noble and Greenough School and at Harvard College, BA '37, and Harvard Medical School, graduating cum laude in 1941. He had a distinguished career in primary care, academic and prison medicine and was in private practice all his professional life, closing his practice at the age of 95. He is survived by his beloved former wife, Daphne Brooks Prout, his brother William W. Prout, and four daughters: Diana Prout Cherot, Daphne Prout Cook, Rosamond Prout Warren, and Phyllis Brooks Prout, 5 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. His sister Virginia Prout Nulsen pre-deceased him. He is also survived by his wife, Diane Neal Emmons, 4 Stepchildren, one foster daughter, 2 step-grandchildren and well loved relatives and friends too numerous to mention. A memorial service will be held on Sat. Feb. 18, 2012 at 3 pm at The memorial Church, Harvard Yard, Cambridge ,MA.
