So sorry to hear of her passing. I was a student of hers in Quincy. I recently found a letter from her about my poems. She was an inspiration in my life.

Loved going to her poetry readings at The New England Poetry Club in Cambridge. She was a shining star in the literary firmament.

My favorite poem is "Shifting Sun." When I first read it nearly 15 years ago, that powerful piece of poetry has never left me. I am extremely close with my son, and when my father, a teacher, died in 2014. I read it at his wake.
Please accept my condolences and thank you for a poem that makes me appreciate all that I have in life.

To Maro & Sona & Families
I was extremely saddened to learn of Diana's death, earlier this year.
I'm afraid news still can be slow "from over the sea & far away".
Memories?
Yes, there are plenty of them & she was one exceptional woman who was always very generous & accepted into her home & Family, this bloke from "down under".
My mother, Peg, corresponded with Diana for the last 26+ years, so we know the relationship was quite enduring.
Good spirits to you all.

Always curious, chirpy and encouraging when we ran into each other on various occasions over the years, her physical presence will certainly be missed but her talent, spirit, writing and translations will long endure and effect/bridge human and cultural (especially Armenian) understandings.

I will miss my decades long friendship with Diana - her laughter, her genuine care for humanity and the deep love for all things poetry. Yeghitzi Looys

I met her only once and talked to her briefly ten years ago at my lecture introducing my book at NAASR in Belmont. But I lived a long time with her poetry while doing my research on the literary responses of the second generation survivors of the Armenian Genocide. With her beautifully wrought and profoundly emotional poetry in that topic, she led me in choosing my themes and approaches in that turbulent see of literature of Catastrophe.
Dear Diana, your legacy will live forever and your rage against the perpetrators and deniers of the Crime will continue to flame the souls of generations to come. Yes, We are [all] children of Der-Zor.
