DOROTHY C. MILLER Obituary
MILLER, Dorothy C. Worcester, MA — Dorothy "Dee" C. Miller passed away on October 28. Born in 1922 in Sharpsburg, MD, Dee lived in Ocean City, MD, then Ft. Lauderdale, FL and finally spent most of her time in Chestnut Hill, MA near her family. She was known for her quick wit, sense of humor and love of people. Before starting a family, Dee had a career as an advertising writer in Baltimore. She was an avid writer and poet, and in her later years she led a monthly writers' workshop called "The Sparklers." Dee wrote a poem "Keep a Little Chapel in Your Heart" that was set to music and is now sung in churches as a solo. Dee loved playing the piano, having parties and bringing friends together. She was a long time member of the Christian Science Church in Ft. Lauderdale and served regularly in their Christian Science Reading Room. Dee loved life, her family and helping others. Dee was predeceased by her loving husband C. LeRoy Miller. She is survived by three children: Roy Miller of NH, Gail Miller of Newburyport, MA and Melissa Abbott of Worcester. She was also the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren: Elizabeth Miller, Emily Miller, Molly Menschel, Glenn Menschel, Grace Abbott, Belle Abbott and Eli Abbott. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to: Chestnut Hill Benevolent Association, 910 Boylston Street, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467.
