EDWARD F. PAQUETTE Obituary
PAQUETTE, Edward F. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Edward died peacefully, surrounded by family on November 9th, 2016, in Boston MA. He was born in Norwood, MA on October 8, 1935, the son of Joseph and Marie (Dornig) Paquette, and graduated from Walpole High School (1953) and the College of the Holy Cross (1957). In 1962, he married Arleen (Delaney) Paquette and they shared 54 years of marriage together. Edward went on to a distinguished 40-year career as a partner with the global accounting firm, Deloitte, during which Edward, Arleen and their four children lived in Barrington, RI; Buenos Aires, Argentina; London, England; West Hartford, CT; and Boston, MA. Following his retirement from Deloitte, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Standex International, in Salem, NH, and was a Director at Xerium, Inc., based in Youngsville, NC. In retirement, he participated on volunteer projects with the Retired Executive Service Corps, and particularly enjoyed his time with Codman Academy Public Charter School, and served as a tour guide at the Massachusetts State House. He also served in the Air National Guard and was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus. One of Edward's greatest joys was spending time with his extended family - especially his twelve grandchildren - and many friends at their summer home in Madaket, on Nantucket, which for decades has served as a special anchor for the family while moving around the world. On Nantucket, Edward was a long time member of St. Mary's Church and served as Treasurer of the Tristram's/Long Pond Homeowners Association. In addition to his wife, Arleen, Edward is survived by his three daughters, Keren Paquette and her husband, Mark Hollertz of West Hartford, CT; Kathleen Philbrick and her husband Jeff Philbrick of Candia, NH; Lauren Paquette Owenmark and her husband Henrik Owenmark of San Francisco, CA; his son, Jeff Paquette and his wife Heidi Johnson of Boston, MA; his brother, Joseph F. Paquette, of Gladwyne, PA; his twelve beloved grandchildren: Thomas (and wife Sarah), Anna, Silas, Eleanore, and Joseph Philbrick; Liliana, Toby and Maire Hollertz; Mikayla and Jonah Paquette; and Linnea and Milo Owenmark; his cherished brothers- and sisters-in-law: George and Brenda Delaney, Mary (Delaney) O'Neil, Richard and Karin Delaney, and Linda Delaney (pre-deceased by her husband, Kevin Delaney), and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues and friends. Visitation for friends and family will be from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 13th, at the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, WALPOLE, MA. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 14th, at Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole, MA. Relatives and friends are warmly invited (we'll gather at the funeral home at 9:00 a.m.). Interment at Highland Cemetery, Norwood, MA.
