Ed was the nephew of Joseph and Susan McAuliffe of North Reading, Marie Walsh of Florida, James and Mary Jane of Georgia, Mary McCaffrey of Watertown, Thomas (Ret. Watertown FD) and Peggy Walsh of Watertown, and Robert Walsh of Georgia. He is pre-deceased by his grandparents William F. and Margaret L. (Morley) Walsh and Florence J. "Mac" and Marie McAuliffe, his uncle and Godfather John William McAuliffe, and his uncles Robert McCaffrey (Brookline FD) and Lt. William F. Walsh, III (Watertown FD).A second-generation firefighter, Ed leaves behind an extensive extended family, including cousins Capt. Ed married his wife Kristen in 2004 and loved her dearly. Together they started a beautiful family. Eddie adored his young family and as a devoted father, he was deeply involved in his children's activities, spending many hours coaching his son Dillon's baseball, football, and basketball teams as well as daughter Morgan's soccer team. He loved watching the Patriots with his two sons Dillon and Griffin. Ed grew up spending his summers at Camp Roosevelt on Pleasant Lake, Island Falls, ME.
