Gray remained active during retirement in Florida, working well into his 80s for L3 Communications, assembling electronic circuit board components for event data recorders for aircraft and ships. Gray was a member of IEEE, the world's largest technical professional society, and stayed up on engineering advances. The son of parents Joseph N. Gray (formerly Joseph N. Swan) and Mary (nee Christian) Gray, Gray is survived by ex-wife Jacqueline Gray, daughter Audrey Walker, and sons Lawrence, Andrew and Douglas Gray, six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and three step-great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be from 10 to 12 a.m. on Nov. 26 with funeral at 12 p.m.at Groover Funeral home, with interment nearby at Mansion Memorial Park.
