ELEANOR J. (MCLAUGHLIN) BART Obituary
BART, Eleanor J. (McLaughlin) Of Brookline, Harwich and Mission Hill died peacefully at home on May 12th at the age of 95. Beloved daughter of the late James and Frieda McLaughlin and devoted wife of the late Walter J. Bart for 62 years. She was the loving mother of: Walter Bart Jr. and Jeannette of Marblehead, Marilyn Scola and her husband Kenneth of Wayland and Harwich Port, Kenneth who cared and lived with his mother for several years at their summer home in Harwich, and Joan Bart Mohr and her husband Chet of Chatham. Cherished grandmother of Matthew and Shawn Scola, Chet Walter and Gregory Mohr and adored great-grandmother of Anthony and Amelia Scola. Dear sister of the late Pauline Richards of Newton, Frances McLaughlin Hull of Mission Hill and Anna Mc Laughlin. Also survived by several treasured nieces, nephews, and Godchildren. Eleanor was a proud graduate of Mission High School and retired from the New England Telephone Company. She was active in her community both as a Brookline Town Meeting Member in Precinct 9 and as a Board Member of the Brookline Senior Center. She was also known for her advocacy to save the Saint Aidan's Church. Eleanor will be well remembered for her love of family, friends, and the church, as well as ballroom dancing and world traveling with her soul mate Walter. Funeral from the Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home, 376 Washington St., BROOKLINE, Tuesday morning at 9:10 followed by a Funeral Mass in Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help "Mission Church", 1545 Tremont St., Boston at 10:00. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Monday from 4:30 – 8:00. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
