ERMINIA "MIM" FRICKS Obituary
FRICKS, Erminia "Mim" Grow Old Along With Me, The Best Is Yet To Be Born Erminia Fortunata Mancini on Sep 4, 1921 in Newton, MA, and passed away July 6, 2018. Daughter of Luigi and Maria Mancini; sister of Grace, Dora, Luciano, Lillian, Coriolano (Mike) and Alfred (all departed now); graduate of Newton High School (1939); Head Administrator of Brandeis University's Physics Department for over 20 years. Mim won the respect and love of professors and students alike and touched many in the Bedford community, where she lived for over 60 years. Her heart and home were always open to those in need, and she met time's challenges with extraordinary grace, living to 96—in her own home and on her own terms. As Edna St. Vincent Millay wrote in a favorite passage, "The presence of her absence is everywhere." Mim's presence/absence will be felt forever by her sons, David Fricks (Sharon) and Carl Fricks (Aileen); her grandchildren, Alyssa, Ilanna, Julian Fricks and Quinn Ewen; her nieces and their families, and her many friends. Mass will be celebrated by Father Michael Nolan at St. Michael's in Bedford, Friday, Sep. 21 at 11:00 am; with interment the following day at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham. As per Mim's wishes, "In lieu of any donations, a simple act of kindness will suffice." Arrangements made by the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St., WATERTOWN.
