CANNIFF, Esther M.

(Zaporetski) Age 81, of North Weymouth and Eastham, died peacefully, Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Milton. Esther was born in Quincy on January 21, 1935 to the late John and Esther (Craig) Zaporetski. She had lived in North Weymouth for over forty years and was also a lifelong summer resident of Eastham on Cape Cod where she made many lasting friendships.She was employed as an administrative assistant with her late husband Jim at the James Clarence Canniff, Jr. Monument Company in Quincy for many years. Previously she had worked in downtown Boston for twenty years with the New England Telephone Company. Esther was devoted to her family and especially to her cherished grandchildren.Beloved wife for forty-seven years of the late James Clarence Canniff, Jr. who recently passed away on April 9, 2016. Devoted mother of Charlene, Daniel, Jamie Lynn, Stephen, Jeanne Marie and the late Karen Canniff. Loving grandmother of Shawn, Michael, Sarah, Anna, Thomas, Alexus, Jayson, Ethan, Koko, Mia, Madison and Stephen. Sister of Theresa Zaporetski of Weymouth. At the family's request, funeral arrangements are private. For those who wish, donations in Esther's memory may be made to the .
