"Frank" 77, of Sandwich, MA, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Tremont of Wareham. He was the husband of Mary A. (Rettman) Gilleo. He resided in Sandwich for the past 22 years and previously had lived in Brockton, MA and was raised in Jamaica Plain. Besides his wife, he leaves his daughter Janice Boyle of Plymouth, grandchildren, Padraic Boyle and Caoilinn Boyle. Born in Boston, MA, a son of the late George and Marguerite (Sheehan) Gilleo; siblings, Catherine Smith of Virginia, James Gilleo of Florida, Ann Higgins of South Boston, MA and Regina Cheves of Texas. He is also survived by his good friends, John Torchio, Gerald Brown and Edward Hurvitz. He was the father-in-law of Paul F. Boyle, Jr.
Mr. Gilleo worked as a police officer for many years, retiring from the Metropolitan District Commission. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at Corpus Christi Parish. He was a life member of the
and Marine Corps League, American Legion Local Post 188. He had volunteered for Catholic Charities in Brockton and also the Brockton VA. He volunteered for Plymouth County Sheriff's Department and Barnstable County Sheriff's Department. He also played Santa Claus with the town of Scituate for Santa Stroll. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Corpus Christi Parish, 324 Quaker Meeting House Road. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Interment to be held at a later date.
