Obituary Condolences

BARTON, Francis "Tim" Edward 79, died peacefully in his sleep on November 10, 2011 at the Exeter Hospital. He was born September 2, 1932 in Rockland, ME., son of the late Leslie D. and Virginia (Reardon) Barton. Tim grew up in Rockland, ME. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in to the United States Air Force and served from 1951-1956 during the Korean War. When Tim returned home, he took employment as a mail carrier in Beverly Farms, MA which spanned thru the next 35 years. Tim and his wife, Carol were longtime residents of Peabody at this time, and Tim was very well known for his originally written annual Christmas story that he would read for the children of Hall St. in the Centerville area. This tradition lasted about 20 years. Tim was always so generous with his time and helping people out in any way that he could. After his retirement from the post office and driving school buses, he volunteered to drive the elderly around for different appointments or needs. Mr. Barton had resided in Raymond, NH for the past 25 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carol (Dievendorff) Barton of Raymond, a daughter and her husband, Ann and David Brenton of Stoneham, MA., a son, Edward Barton of Raymond, NH, 5 grandchildren, Joshua, Michael and Jason with his wife, Claire Barton, Elizabeth and Daniel Brenton, 3 sisters, Goldie Robinson of Missouri, June Robbins of Michigan, Connie Moore of FL., and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2011 from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond, NH. A funeral service with military honors will follow on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody, MA. at a later date.
