Obituary Condolences

AXELROD, Gerald A. "Gerry" 90, passed away on April 6, 2016 at the Cranbury Care Center, Cranbury, NJ. He was born in Lawrence, MA, and lived in Morris Township, NJ, prior to moving to Chester, NJ, where he lived for nine and a half years. Gerry graduated from Rutgers University in 1951 with a BA Degree in Economics. He was President and Founder of Axco Abstract. Inc, Morristown, NJ, where he worked for 44 years until his retirement in 2007. He was the second of four generations to be a member of the Morristown Jewish Center Beit Yisrael, a member of the American Legion Post #342 as well as an Honorary Member of the New Jersey Land Title Association and an Honorary Trustee of the Beth Israel Cemetery Association. He served as a Corporal in the Air Force during World War II. Gerry is survived by his sons, Ronald J. Axelrod, Chester, NJ, and Mark S. Axelrod, Morris Township, NJ, and a daughter, Dorrie Z. Brumbaugh, Bordentown, NJ. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Heather S. Axelrod and Samantha Tess Brumbaugh. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Shirley Karlin Axelrod, in 1995. Family and friends are welcomed to gather for a funeral service on Sunday, April 10, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Ave., Morris Plains, NJ 07950. Interment will be at Beth Israel Cemetery, Cedar Knolls, NJ 07927. The family kindly requests that you donate to a in memory of Gerry Axelrod.
