CORBETT, Gerard "Jerry, Mr. C, Uncle Jerry" A lifelong resident of Arlington passed away April 15, 2016, at the age of 93. Born in Roxbury, MA to the late William J. and Elizabeth (Knight) Corbett. Beloved husband of the late Mary Alice (Rogan). Loving father of Mary Rood and her husband Lonnie of Hilton, NY, Dennis and his wife Angela (Donisi McGlashing) of Arlington, Jeannie Thomas and her late husband James of Burlington, and Richard and his dear friend Mary Anne Fitzgerald of Arlington. Predeceased by his siblings, Kay Kessler, Charles, Joseph, William, Alice Mead, George, Mary Corbett, Annie Ruth Stewart, Frank, Kevin, John, Donal, James and Niall. Loving grandfather of Marjorie Corbett, Jeffrey Corbett and Caleb Rood. Great grandfather of Elizabeth, Joseph and Olivia. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jerry graduated from Somerville Trade School, was a mechanic in the Army during WW II and is the last member of Corbett Square (Park Ave. & Wollaston St.) honoring the six Corbett brothers who fought in WW II and one brother in Korea. He will be remembered as a friend and father figure to many who grew up in Menotomy Manor. Relatives and friends will gather on Wednesday in the DeVito Funeral Home, 1145 Mass. Ave., ARLINGTON from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday commencing at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Agnes Church. Interment will conclude at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
