Grace had a large and extended family, and many dear friends, all of whom were a vital part of her life. She was pre-deceased by her parents, William M. and Winifred (Nolan) Healy, sister, Winifred M. Healy and brother, William M. Healy. A lifelong scholar, educator, teacher and mentor, Grace excelled in the fields of physics, math and adult education. She earned a doctorate in physics at the Catholic University of America and a doctorate in education at Boston University. Formerly a member of Sisters of St. Joseph, she taught at all levels, from elementary to college, including many years at Regis College. She also taught at Syracuse University, Boston University and Bridgewater State University. Grace was a staunch supporter of many worthy causes. Most dear to her was the Patient to Patient, Heart to Heart cancer peer support program at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. A cancer survivor herself and beneficiary of this program, Grace volunteered faithfully for many years so that others could have the same support and care that was so helpful to her. In recognition of her service she received the Debby Award in 2003. Grace's kind, generous and independent spirit will live on through all who were fortunate to know and love her. Funeral will be held Wednesday, September 14th, at 10:00AM in St. Peter Church, 100 Concord Ave., Cambridge. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment Private.
