Obituary Condolences

GLEASON, Harold James 73, of East Sandwich, MA, passed away Wednesday August 24,2016 peacefully at home. His wife Antoinette L. "Toni" (Gray) Gleason and daughter were by his side. Born in Boston, MA, a son of the late Harold J. and Monica (Tucker) Gleason. After high school, Poppy, as he was lovingly known by family and friends joined the United States Army. He was a paratrooper of the 101st Division. After the army, Poppy worked as a bricklayer and was a gold card member of the Bricklayer Union Local # 3 in Boston, MA. Besides his wife of 52 years, he is survived by 2 daughters, Monica Jacobson and her husband K.C. of San Diego, CA and Andrea Gleason of Sandwich, MA; 2 granddaughters, Avery Jacobson (17) and Blake Jacobson (14); many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Herbert T. Gleason. He also leaves his dog Zeke his best friend that was by his side until the end. He was a devoted New England Patriot's fan and an avid model railroader. Poppy was a member of the American Legion Post 188. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the American Legion Post 188, 20 Main Street, Sandwich.
