1932 - 2016 Obituary Condolences
RICHTER, Dr. Howard Saul "Rick" Age 84, of Wayland, Massachusetts and Sarasota, Florida, died Friday from injuries sustained in a single car crash. Rick was born April 8, 1932, to the late Irving and Helen Richter, in Paterson, New Jersey. He graduated from Rutgers University, earned his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College, and served as a captain in the US Air Force. He was board-certified in internal medicine and an exceptional diagnostician, providing decades of care for patients in Woburn and West Medford, Massachusetts. In retirement Rick enjoyed tennis, world travel, sailing and skiing. He re-kindled his life-long love and talent for bridge, earning the rank of Silver Life Master. Dr. Richter is survived by his children and their spouses; Michael (Marina) Richter and Ronni (Joe) Shaw, grandchildren; Cedar Peters, Rachael Richter, Leah Shaw, and Nava Shaw and his step-children; Traci Dorsey, Ted Lane, and their families. Rick is also survived by his partner of 13 years Ruth Ruderman, her children Sarah (Ryan) Wilensky and Michael Ruderman and grandchildren, Emmy and Miles. He leaves behind his sister, Susan Wallenstein, nephew David Wallenstein, niece Dena Neusner, and many devoted cousins. Memorial service will be held at a later date.
