J. WARREN BEAN Obituary
BEAN, J. Warren 91, of Ocean Ave. Ext., died Thurs., May 3, 2012. He was born Nov. 2, 1920 in Lexington, MA a son of the late James A. and Louisa (Teague) Bean and graduated from Lexington H.S. class of 38. He served with the Merchant Marines during World War II. He owned and operated J. A. Bean Moving and Storage Company for many years. He was a member of the York Senior Center and served on the Board of Directors and he was past president of the York AARP Chapter. He was a 73 year member and Past Noble Grand of the International Order of Odd Fellows and a Rebekah, he was also a member of American Legion Post 56. After retiring, he volunteered at Sohier Park and the Nubble Light. He played Santa Claus and visited many children's organizations and Hospitals and he served as a volunteer in the Administration office of the York Beach Police Dept. He leaves his wife of 67 years, Shirley F. (Currie) Bean; two sons, Robert W. Bean and his wife Diane of Wells, ME; Ernest A. Bean and his wife Vivian of Tyngsborough, MA; a daughter Deborah S. Brunstrom and her husband Richard of Acton, MA; 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons James A. Bean II, Donald B. Bean, two brothers, G. Allen and Malcolm C. Bean and a sister Marge O'Leary. Calling hours for Warren will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 6 in the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Rd., YORK, Maine with a funeral home service to take place at 1:00 p.m. on Mon., May 7. Burial will be held at 11: 00 a.m. on Fri., May 11 in Westview Cemetery in Lexington, MA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy Fund or the York Senior Center.
