McLAUGHLIN, James Edward Of Mattapan died on November 22, 2018. Beloved husband of Elizabeth (Dolan) McLaughlin of Mattapan. Loving father of Shane McLaughlin and his wife Christine of Dorchester, Ian McLaughlin and his wife Teresa of Canton and Eirinn McLaughlin of Mattapan. Brother of Edward and his wife Julie of New Hampshire and Paul and his wife Dottie of Hingham. Cherished grandfather of Logan, Rosaleen, Lillian, Georgia and Cormack McLaughlin. James was born and raised in Boston. He was a Stenographer and a dedicated employee of the Federal Government working in the Courts for 30 years before retiring. James children would refer to him as a "super dad "never missing any of their sports or events. He enjoyed gathering with friends at Greenhill's Bakery for conversation and laughs. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather and loyal to a fault. James was a proud USMC Veteran. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday November 27, 2018 at 10AM in Saint Angela Church, Blue Hill Avenue, Mattapan. Visiting hours on Monday 4-8 p.m. in the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS. Interment in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
