CONCANNON, James P. Lifelong resident of Norwood, passed away June 10, 2018. He was 92 years of age. Jim, a 1st generation American, was the devoted son of the late Bridget (O'Flaherty) and Michael Concannon, of Ireland. Loving brother of the late Mary Sanders, Catherine Fitzgerald, Barbara Kelly and Eleanor Concannon. Beloved uncle of John, Mary, Tommy, Jim, Charles, Mae, Jim, Barb Ann, Patty, Kevin and Sheila. He served as Seaman 1st Class during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Europa. Following his honorable discharge, Jim became employed at Kendall Mills in Walpole as a textile worker until his retirement. During that time, he was an active participant and president of the local union. Family and faith were Jim's top priorities, he was a constant source of love and support. At any point "Uncle Jim" was ready to lend a hand. His work ethic was an example for all. He will be deeply missed. Jim's extensive garden and flower beds were a source of great pride. His green thumb was the envy of all. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 13th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington Street, Norwood.
