HAND, James P. Of Norwood, formerly of Jamaica Plain, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2013. He was born in Detroit, MI. Beloved husband of Gertrude (Cleary) Hand. Loving father of Virginia Pittsley and her husband William of Portmouth, RI, Patricia Adelmann and her husband Jack of Plymouth, Donna Celuzza and her husband David of Lunenburg, James P. Hand Jr. and his wife of Kimberley of Attleboro, Eleanor Reilly and her husband Robert of Needham, Edward Hand and his wife Elizabeth of Clarence, NY, Susan Hand of Norwood, Thomas Hand and his partner Cara Meringolo of South Boston, Kathryn Savage and her husband Mark of Norwood, and Kelley Hand of Boston. Devoted brother of Peter Hand of Norwood, Margaret Carew of Brooklyn, NY, Eleanor Carey of Chantilly, VA, and the late Thomas Hand and Mary Slattery. He was also survived by 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was son the late Peter and Nora (Kennedy) Hand. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 12th at 8:00 a.m. from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rte. 1A), NORWOOD, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington Street, Norwood. Interment will follow the Mass in Mt. Benedict Cemetery, Boston. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
