JANE M. HANDRAHAN Obituary
HANDRAHAN, Jane M. (Cusick) 93, of South Yarmouth, passed peacefully on Sunday, April 17, 2016. Formerly of Brookline, Weston, Weymouth, Plymouth and most recently, South Yarmouth. She was the daughter of the late Walter Cusick Sr. and Elizabeth (Cook) Cusick. She was predeceased by her 5 brothers, 3 sisters and also one daughter, Margaret Handrahan. Jane was born in 1922, in Sagamore Highlands on Cape Cod, where the family summered. A resident of Brookline, she attended Brookline schools and was a graduate of the Chandler School in Boston. She was employed by the Equitable Life Insurance Co. as a secretary in the Group Sales Dept. where she later met her future husband, the late John B. Handrahan. They raised their children together until his untimely demise in 1971. Following her husband's passing, she attained her CLU license, carrying on her husband's business until her retirement. She loved golf, belonging to both Pocasset Country Club and Round Hill Country Club, gardening, the many hours spent walking her dogs along Cape Cod Bay. She was also involved in many Bridge groups from Sandwich Library to Cape Cod Hospital Group, as well as many others. Jane is survived by her children Anne Hunsicker of KS, John B. Handrahan of TX, and WIlliam Handrahan of MA. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren along with several loving nieces and nephews from both sides of the family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 27, at the Corpus Christi Parish, 324 Quaker Meeting House Road, E. Sandwich, MA. Friends can join the family at 9:00 AM at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Rte. 6A, SANDWICH, MA to process to the Church. Following Mass, a collation will be held in the Parish Hall adjacent to the church. Burial will follow at North Weymouth Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jane's name to the .
