JOHN BOWMAN COLE Obituary
COLE, John Bowman Dad died at age 96 on June 8, 2016. An American hero and example of unbreakable will, he lived a full life and believed in goodness, loyalty and hard work. He was curious, intelligent and funny, endearing him to everyone he met. Dad was born in Malden in 1920, joining the US Navy after Pearl Harbor, serving 4 years aboard the Battleship USS Massachusetts as Chief Petty Officer. He attended Bentley University (1947) & Suffolk University (BS 1954, MBA 1955). He was a CPA and joined the faculty of Bentley in 1950 and served as Professor of Accounting until he retired in 1982 and moved to FL, delighting in time spent with his grandchildren. Dad was married to the love of his life, Lee Regan Cole, for 52 years until her death in 2003. Survived by children Janet E Cole (FL), John R Cole (Dedham), Jerry Cole (FL), Noralee Pennell (PA), Richard Cole (CA) and 13 grandchildren. Also survived by sister Elaine Houle (Braintree), sister-in-law Barbara Cole (Westford) and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held in West Palm Beach, FL on June 25th. Donations may be made to the USS Massachusetts at Battleship Cove, 5 Water St, Fall River, MA 02721.
