JOHN FREDERIC PLATT Obituary
PLATT, John Frederic Of Foxboro, passed on October 21, 2016 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Brighton. He was the beloved husband of Linda M. (Bechunas) Platt, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage. John was born in Fall River, MA on September 13, 1941. He was a son of the late Frederic B. and Edith L. (Whitehouse) Platt. John was a graduate of Walpole High School. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Nichols College. He retired from NCR Corporation after many years of service. John was a very active and devoted Mason and Shriner. His important Masonic dates are: Entered Apprentice Degree in February of 1973, Fellowcraft Degree in March 1973, Master Mason Degree in April 1973, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite in December 1975, Master Azure Lodge 1980, Master Lodge of Instruction 1984, Aleppo Temple Shrine January of 1984, Master Azure Lodge 1985, Master Saint Alban's Lodge 1985, Recipient Joseph Warren Medal 1987, President King Philip Shrine Club 1990, Royal Order of Jesters Boston Court 103 in August of 1997, and Deputy District Grand Master 1998-1999 Attleboro 28th Masonic District. John was affiliated with St. Alban's Lodge in Foxboro, Cawnacome Lodge (Charter Member), Social Harmony Lodge, Wrentham, and Scottish Rite Valley of So. Eastern, MA. In addition to his wife Linda, John is survived by two sons; Joseph F. Platt and his wife Cynthia of Foxboro, and James F. Platt of Foxboro, two sisters; Ann E. Lovely and her husband Peter of Foxboro, and Mary Lou Pike of Foxboro. Also survived by three grandchildren; Daniela Platt, Michael Platt, and Lauren Platt. He was the brother in law of the late Donald Pike. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 4-8 PM in the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, FOXBORO. A Masonic Service will be held at 7 PM. A funeral will be held on Friday, October 28th at 10 am in the funeral home followed by a funeral service at 11 AM in the Bethany Congregational Church, 3 Rockhill Street, Foxboro. Burial will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge. For additional information, please contact 508 543-5471.
