Obituary Condolences

COTTER, John M. "Jack" 77, died Saturday, December 29, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH. Jack Cotter was born on February 4, 1935 in Boston, the son of the late Michael and Margaret (Murnane) Cotter. He attended St. Peter's School in Dorchester where he played baseball and football prior to entering the United States Air Force. While stationed at Roswell, New Mexico Air Base, Jack played baseball for the Roswell Rockets touring the southwest. Upon his discharge from the service, Jack joined the Federal Aviation Administration initially in Boston then moving to Nashua, NH when the Boston Enroute Center opened. He retired in 1994 as an Air Traffic Supervisor. Jack was very involved with youth baseball for over 35 years. He coached Hollis Little League teams, organized the Hollis Babe Ruth Baseball program for several years, and coached at Alvirne High School for over 25 years. He truly enjoyed working with each and every player as they developed and prepared for their next steps in life. Additionally, Jack enjoyed travel especially his most recent trip to Ireland and rounds of golf both in New England and Florida. Jack is predeceased by his wife, Catherine "Nancy" Cotter, his brother, Timothy, and his sister, Sister Catherine Cotter SND. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Huntley; his sister, Margie Harris and her husband Jamie; his sister-in-law, Noreen Cotter; his son, John Cotter and his wife Heidi; his daughter, Lynda Galligan and her husband Patrick; his daughter, Bethe Tomasek and husband Jamison. "Grampy" will be missed by his 8 grandchildren, Tim, Marie, Patrick, Owen, Brady, Jack, Will, and Ally. Services: Visitation will be from 4-8pm, Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Davis Funeral Home, One Lock Street in Nashua. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 4, 9am, at the Parish of the Resurrection, 449 Broad Street in Nashua. Interment Prayers and Burial will follow at North Cambridge Cemetery, 244 Rindge Avenue in Cambridge, MA. Family and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Timothy J. Cotter Scholarship Fund, In Memory of John M. Cotter, Bank 5, 79 N. Main St., Fall River, MA 02720, Attention: Maria McCoy.
