I still can't believe it. It was such a pleasure knowing him. The Globe piece captured him perfectly.Suzanne Salamon

To Scottie and family,
Our heartfelt condolences. The Trust couldn't have had a more devouted and fair minded ambassador. Every time I cross the bridge he and Jamie put up on the Moen trail, I think of Rob. It was so needed, yet must have been a bear to transport and set in place. To have his leadership in securing and maintaining the beautiful open space, such a jewel in our town, was a blessing. Our thoughts are with you. Rob's spirit will undoubtedly watch over the trails and fields he loved.
Fondly,
Sharon and Andy Mandell

Dear Scottie and family, The Hall family of Waitsfield sends our condolences and gratitude. In the 60's Rob, along with his Navy buddies Skip Borst and Lee Greenwood, graced this home whenever they had time of from the submarines. They built stone walls, dug gardens, and planted trees, always making sure to take time off to climb in the Green Mts.To this day we are grateful for the blooms of their labors. When Rob's hands were dirty, his smile was as expansive as the Green Mts. Our prayers are with you.

I met Rob a few years ago while marking the Bolton Loop Trail. I'll never forget when he whipped out a chainsaw from his backpack and started clearing debris. Who has a chainsaw in their backpack - Rob did!! Great man. Glad I got to share a day with him in the woods. My thoughts are with his family.
