Joe was a great guy and genuinely loved women's hockey. Even back in the early days, he was the "go to guy" that all the college coaches sought out when they were recruiting players. He knew everything about everyone, the players and their families. Anyone who was lucky enough to have known Joe was always amazed about how passionate he was about the game and how he wanted to help the players and the coaches. He was Mr. Hockey in Massachusetts. I will never forget how helpful he was to the "kid from WMass" when she was trying to navigate the college hockey scene in the 80's. My parents and grand parents always looked forward to talking to Joe at games and tournaments. RIP Joe.

Joe was one of the strongest, and most passionate supporters of girl's and women's hockey at all levels, and for decades. He has touched the lives of players from youth to college hockey for generations with his stories and annotated game programs.
We have lost a wonderful, kind, supportive, and unconditional member of our hockey community. Your devotion will live on. I promise. Proud to know you, my friend.

My sincere condolences to go out to all of Joe's family and friends. Joe will always hold a very special place in my heart. He was one of the sweetest, kindest persons I have ever met. Joe and I used to go hiking together, along with my dog Ziggy around the New England area. He showed me some of the most beautiful trails I have ever seen as well as the most picturesque views from some of highest mountains tops; Mount Greylock (3, 491 feet, western MA), Camel's Hump (4, 081 feet, VT) and Cascade Mountain (4, 098 feet Adirondack Park, Lake Placid, NY). Joe would usually lead the way on every hike we took, usually only stopping for a quick sip of water from the running streams while he waited for me to catch up with him. Thank you, Joe, for all that you were and for inspiring us all to go beyond our limits and to live life to its fullest. We love you always!

Joe was a huge part of the Dedham High School Girl's Ice Hockey Program. Every year, Joe generously donated to the program, ensuring players and coaches had everything they needed. Whether it was a home game at Nobles Rink or traveling an hour to watch a DHS alum skate for her college, Joe's support meant a lot to many skaters. Thank you, Joe, for your generosity and steadfast support.

Joey was the best neighbor anyone could have!! Always shoveled for me. Cleaned my gutters, brought my rubbish barrels in to my yard after rubbish was picked up. Couldn't have asked for a more polite better guy to be a neighbor! Fly high with the angels Joey~~ Mary
