Obituary Condolences

Died in Derry, New Hampshire, May 18th, at his residence surrounded by loved ones after an extended illness, aged 51. Beloved husband of Nancy C. (Tully) Arria for 29 years. He was born in Boston, MA, February 27, 1955, the son of Elena (Cuoco) Arria of Medford, MA and the late Frank Arria. Mr. Arria resided in Derry since 1987 and was formerly of Malden and Medford, MA where he was educated from the Medford School system. Joey enjoyed several careers. He was the owner & operator of J & S Autobody in Malden, MA and worked for the City of Medford Water Department and the Forrestry Department. He was also the owner & operator of Joey 1 Call in Derry, N.H. He was a member of the St. Thomas & Holy Cross Church in Derry, and a member of the District Council #35 Local Union Painter. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, skiing, boating, 4-wheeling and trips with his wife on his motorcycle. Besides loving his wife, he was the beloved father of Angela N. Fiore and her husband Carmen J. of Sandown, N.H. He was adored by his three grandchildren, twin grandsons Anthony J. and Domenic J. and granddaughter Mia A. also of Sandown, a sister, Maryellen Sampson and her husband James of Medford, MA, a brother, Salvatore J. Arria of Medford, MA, aunts, uncles, cousins, & nices & nephews. His greatest pleasure was playing with his grandchildren and being in the presence of family and friends. Calling hours will take place at the Goundrey Funeral Home, 42 Main St. (RT. 97), SALEM, N.H. from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinains Church in Derry, N.H. Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. Cremation at a later date.
