One of the very first people that I came in contact with when I first volunteered at WTBS (now WMBR) on the M.I.T. campus in 1969. I will never forget his patience with this young pup. Thanks, Larry, for everything.

Met Larry at DECUS in Anaheim and again in New Orleans. We had a couple of discussions about computers, mostly security. He seemed to love life. Memories were brief, but fond.

I just heard of Larry's Passing. Larry Kilgallen was the news director of MIT's radio station when I was a volunteer there in the seventies. He was a wonderful role model and certainly had a hand in helping me in what has become a long and wonderful career in radio broadcasting. Larry was one of a kind. Very sorry to hear of Larry's passing.
As an aspiring broadcast journalist, I had the benefit of learning much from Larry during time spent at WTBS/WMBR. He was a wonderful, wise and patient mentor who showed me the ropes at the station as well as at the State House, always armed with a briefcase that contained every conceivable electronic cable and adaptor.
My condolences to his immediate and extended family.

It was with shock and sadness that I read in this morning's Globe the news of Larry's passing. We had attended Albany High School together and renewed our acquaintance at the 40th and 45th reunions for our class--assuming we'd see each other at the 50th. What regret I have that I did not keep in closer touch; our homes were not that far from each other. Even as a high school student, Larry was obviously brilliant with an intuitive grasp of mathematics and physics. He loved photography then and developed his pictures in his father's darkroom. One day he rigged the family doorbell so that it played the famous motif from Beethoven's Fifth--his mother taught strings in the public schools, so I'm sure she appreciated this addition to the musical atmosphere of the home.
My deepest condolences to you, Marian, and to everyone else who knew Larry. Such a loss of intellect, playfulness, and generosity.

I only met Larry in person a few times, but he was always kind and helpful to me, no matter how simple my question. I will miss him.
