Obituary Condolences

LEVERONI, Lillian "Lil" Of Brighton, MA, passed away peacefully Saturday evening Feb. 2nd, 2013 in the Colonial Nursing Home in Weymouth at the age of 96. Born on November 16, 1916 in NH, daughter of the late Augustus and Mary (Darcy) Leveroni, Lil was raised in Arlington. Ever the independent woman Lil quickly spread her wings moving to Manhattan, NY after finishing school, where she earned the title fastest typist in New York City after winning the city wide executive secretary competition in the late fifty's. While in New York City Lil's love for the stage grew. She attended the NY Academy of Arts and Sciences, acted in plays for almost twenty years, and loved every minute of it. Always the adventurer Lil took a job as the Contract Manager for all convention functions at The Mount Washington Hotel during the mid sixties in Bretton Woods, NH, where she continued to explore her love of traveling. Taking trips throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe with her travel buddy and best friend Geraldine Reto of PA. Not one to slow down, after retiring, Lillian moved to the Brighton section of Boston becoming quite active in the Saint Columbekille Church including adding her voice to the adult choir, where she came to love her friends Marianne McGowan and Rick Scaramozza. In her elder years Lillian would spend a year in Duxbury living with her cousin Kathy O'Sullivan and her husband John before moving to Assisted Care in Plymouth and then she moved into Colonial Nursing Home in Weymouth where she won many of the trivia contests, and enjoyed exploring the restaurants of Nantasket Beach with her cousin Kathy, Godson Jay Mooney and his wife Jean. Lillian is survived by her loving Godson John Mooney and several cherished cousins throughout New England including: Kathy O'Sullivan, Maureen Stamper, Barry Mooney, Danny Mooney, and Nancy Kelley. Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapels, 325 Trapelo Rd, BELMONT on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Graveside Funeral Service in celebration of Lillian's Life at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 70 Medford St., (Rte. #60) Arlington at 12:30p.m. Visiting Hours prior to the service on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking attendants on duty.
