Obituary Condolences

MILLER, Lori A. (Mirisola) Of South Boston, died peacefully at her home Saturday, September 3rd, surrounded by her loving family and dear friends after an incredibly hard fought battle with cancer. Bereaved by her best friend and husband of 32 years, Brian Miller. Adored mother of Kaitlin, Kristen, Kimberly, and Brian Jr. Loving daughter of Loretta Mirisola and the late Joseph Mirisola, daughter-in-law of William and Lois Miller, all of South Boston. Cherished sister of Joanne Aniello and her husband Al of Braintree, and Guy Mirisola and his companion Donna Crosby of South Boston. Beloved sister-in-law of the late Bill Miller and his wife Sheila; Mary Skerry and her husband Marc; Patty McDonnell and her husband Jim; Carol O'Connell and her husband Jerry; Janice Maddox and her husband John; and Joanne Pages and her husband John, all of South Boston. Lori also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and cherished friends. Lori lived her life with great love and passion. She had a spirited and generous nature and was always up for a new adventure. Her travels brought her to Ireland, Italy, France, Jamaica (and Foxwoods), but the spot she loved the most was in South Boston with her loved ones by her side. Her participation in her children's lives was legendary. She attended every sporting event, play and school function and took delight in their every accomplishment. Her life was richly blessed and she believed strongly in paying her blessings forward. So many community groups, charities and local families counted on her willingness to help out. Her home was often filled with people in support of a cause or an accomplishment to be celebrated. Lori faced her illness with a grace and courage rarely seen. She never complained or succumbed to sadness - she reminded us all constantly that her glass was "half full, not half empty." Lori was a beloved, respected and actively involved member of the South Boston community. She will be dearly missed but joyfully remembered. Visiting hours at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 146 Dorchester Street, SOUTH BOSTON, Thursday from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Funeral Mass in St. Brigid Church on Friday at 11:00 A.M.
