Fortunato, Louise M. (Witham)
Passed on June 6, 2013. Louise was born, one of ten children of Zebulan and Annie Witham, in Ipswich, MA. Louise lived in Ipswich through her junior year of high school when her family relocated to North Reading. She graduated and was employed by the school superintendent's office. She married and raised her children in Beverly for thirty years. She also cared for her parents in her home at this time. Louise was always caring and concerned for her friends and family. She moved to Topsfield where she was active in the LaSallete community. She also enjoyed gardening, swimming, hiking, and religious pursuits, and shared these passions with her family. Louise is survived by two sisters, Kay Birkmaier and Pat Crosby, by her two sons, Donald Fortunato and wife Lorraine and Ronald Fortunato, two daughters, Donna Gauthier and husband Ronald, and Joanne Vallone and husband Michael. She was pre-deceased by her brothers, Fred, Eddie, and Charlie Witham and sisters, Rose Chaput, Polly Baron, Alice Boudreau, and Margaret Crosby, also her special friend, Leonard Soule. Louise leaves nine grandchildren; Coreen, Tracey, Rena, Randy, Michael, Shane, Kurt, Kris, and Kim. She also leaves fourteen great grandchildren; Leah, Trae, Nicole, Julia, Alexandra, David, Craig, Ava, Lucy, River, Kyla, Braydon, Isabella, and Celia. She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, June 12, from 4-8 pm at Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third St., NORTH ANDOVER. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, June 13 at 10:00 am at St. Michael's Church, 196 Main St., North Andover. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the North Shore.
