Mascianica, Lucille S. (Perrault)
Of Saugus, age 93, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis S. Mascianica to whom she was married for 68 years. She was the loving mother of June L. Mascianica of Saugus; Francis S. Mascianica, Jr. and his wife, Diane of Dartmouth, MA; Martin P. Mascianica and his wife, MaryEllen of Chapel Hill, NC and Robert G. Mascianica and his wife, MaryAnne of Scarsdale, NY. She was a cherished Memere to Heather, Scott, Jill, Lauren, Leigh, Michael, Sarah and Evan Mascianica. "Lu" was born in Lowell, MA on July 4, 1919, the fifth of eleven children born to the late George Napoleon Perrault and Marie-Anna (Dionne) Perrault. She was a sister to Yvette Marlowe, Martha Delisle, Jacqueline Sylvestre and Mark Perrault and predeceased by siblings George Perrault, Armand Perrault, Rita Swiniarski, Leon Perrault, Rudolph Perrault and Charles Perrault. A 1938 graduate of Lowell High School, Lu continued her education at the Ring Sanitarium in Arlington, MA where she studied psychiatric nursing. With her nurturing nature and experience caring for her younger siblings, she found her passion in nursing. She attended the Simms School of Nursing for her clinical training and the Winthrop Community Hospital for Obstetrics and Gynecology. In their later years, both Lu and her husband, Frank, enjoyed some wonderful vacations but they also spent countless hours caring for their grandchildren and played a very active role in their lives. Lu was deliberate, honest with a keen memory and attention to detail that remained with her until her passing. She was a devoted homemaker with a particular love of cooking and knitting. We will remember her as a devoted mother and grandmother who loved sharing stories about her family and her special relationship with each of her grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Avenue, SAUGUS, on Friday at 12:30p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:30a.m.-12:30pm. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden directly following the service.
