MADELINE SND Obituary
79, of Ipswich, died peacefully on Friday August 23, 2013 at the Sisters of Notre Dame Julie Billiart Retirement Center in Ipswich. Sister was born Marie Catherine MacDougall in Boston on December 1, 1933, daughter of the late Roderic J. and Mary F. (Courtney) MacDougall. Sister was a graduate of Emmanuel College with a BA Degree in Music and a she received her MS degree in Music from the University of New Hampshire. Sister Madeline entered the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in Waltham on August 1, 1951 receiving her first vows on July 30, 1954 and professed her Perpetual Vows on July 30, 1959. Sister Madeline's ministries were in Boston, Beverly, Tyngsboro, Methuen, Lawrence, West Newton, East Boston, Leominster, Dorchester, Waltham and Kingsport, TN. Sister Madeline is survived by her many Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, her brother Richard and his wife Ruth MacDougall of Chattanooga, TN, a niece and seven nephews. Sister was predeceased by her brother Paul MacDougall. Sisters Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 3 PM at Our Lady Queen Chapel, 30 Jeffreys Neck Rd., Ipswich. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 1 to 3 PM at the Sisters of Notre Dame. A prayer service will be held at 2 PM. Memorial contributions may be made is Sisters Madeline's name to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, 30 Jeffrey's Neck Rd., Ipswich, MA 01938.
