MARGARET (CELESTE CLOHERTY) CHANDLER Obituary
CHANDLER, Margaret Marge (Celeste Cloherty) Passed away peacefully on March 2, 2014 at the age of 90 with her family by her side. Marge was a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend, and a true lady. Born in Roxbury, Massachusetts, Marge was the daughter of Charles Celeste and Margaret Murphy Celeste. During her lifetime, Marge lived in Brighton, Dedham, Hyde Park, and Quincy. Marge was blessed with a rewarding and fulfilling life. In addition to raising four boys, Marge had a long and impressive career as a business woman retiring as a Vice President from Fleet Bank. As an avid reader, Marge was well known at the Dedham Library. Traveling and spending time with family were her two favorite pastimes. Marge's final years were spent at Atria in Marina Bay where she was loved and cared for by many friends. The nurses of Celtic Home Care became her extended family. Marge was predeceased by her husband, Roy Chandler; son Dennis Cloherty; daughter-in-law Barbara Cloherty; and grandson Jesse Cloherty. Marge was a loving mother and is survived by her sons Joseph (Jay) Cloherty, James Francis Cloherty, and Brian Cloherty and his wife, Patty, and daughter-in-law, Paulette Cloherty. Marge was a dedicated grandmother to Sean Cloherty, Sarah Cloherty-Freiermuth, Chris Cloherty, Saydie Ortiz, Joseph Jimeniz, Brian Cloherty, and Lauren Cloherty. She was a great grandmother to Sean, Anna, Jonah, Hana and Emily as well as a caring aunt and friend to many. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 9:00 to 10:30 at the Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street, SOUTH BOSTON. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 at St. Brigid's Church, 841 East Broadway, South Boston. Interment services will be private. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Laboure Center, 275 West Broadway, South Boston, MA 02127 or to St. Jude's Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
