Margaret Solmonte-Houghton Obituary

SOLMONTE-HOUGHTON, Margaret M. (Elliott) Age 89, of Scituate, died peacefully, Sunday, January 9, 2011 at the Life Care Center of the South Shore in Scituate. Margaret was born in East Boston, and she was raised and educated in Boston schools. She graduated from the former Burdett School of Business. She lived in Scituate for 3 years, previously living in Quincy for fifty years, and earlier living in Hingham. She worked as a computer operator at the Quincy Savings Bank for twelve years, and she retired in 1980. Beloved wife of the late Edwin K. Houghton and the late Charles J. Solmonte. Devoted mother of Edwin K. "Ted" Houghton of Hyannis and John A. Houghton and his wife Susan of Falmouth. Loving grandmother of Sally M. Houghton of Falmouth, Emily Houghton of Minneapolis, MN, Patrick Houghton of Steamboat Springs, CO, and Amelia Ann Houghton of Providence, RI. Sister of the late Charles Elliott and the late John Elliott. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, QUINCY, Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 9am. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School St., Quincy at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-8pm. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701. You are invited to visit www.thesweeneybrothers.com.
