1949 - 2017 Obituary Condolences
FEEHERRY, Marion B. "Maridee" Age 68, of Wenham, passed away peacefully at home on September 20, 2017, with her husband and daughter by her side, following a brief but brave battle with cancer. She was born in Providence, R.I. on April 25, 1949, the daughter of John J. Bradbury and Marion S. Bradbury. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Marymount College in Tarrytown, N.Y. in 1971 and completed her Dietetic Internship at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital (currently Brigham and Women's Hospital) in Boston. She subsequently worked as a Clinical Dietitian at Cardinal Cushing Hospital and the Brigham, and as the Assistant Chief Clinical Dietitian at Salem Hospital before opening her own consulting nutritionist practice in 1984, North Shore Nutrition Services, where she served patients with complex nutritional needs, including HIV/AIDS patients, adults and children with diabetes, and cancer patients. Known for her warmth and expertise as an educator, Maridee was a popular and sought after lecturer who presented on nutrition topics for the VNA Care Network, the Joslin Diabetes Center, the New England AIDS Education and Training Center, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and numerous assisted living facilities across the state. Always looking for new ways to help her patients, Maridee became a Certified Diabetes Educator in 1995 and obtained her Masters in Human Nutrition from the University of New Haven in 1998, where she was a Fellowship Award recipient. She continued to run her practice until just before her cancer diagnosis in the spring of 2017. Outside of her professional career, Maridee's interests were varied and she excelled at all of them. An avid horsewoman and animal lover who generously supported animal rescue organizations, she was the type of person who never hesitated to help muck out a horse stall and her ability to maneuver a truck hauling a horse trailer was legendary. Maridee sang professionally in college and played piano and guitar and enjoyed sharing her love of musical theater with her daughter and grandchildren. A graceful skier, Maridee designed a beautiful second home in Bartlett, New Hampshire, where she and Tony spent many weekends skiing and appreciating the glorious New England foliage. A gracious hostess, the annual Feeherry Christmas parties were a favorite tradition. Holidays and family gatherings brought her tremendous joy and many memories were made around the family dining room table. Along with her husband, she was a supporter of many organizations and institutions, including Wolf Hollow (North American Wolf Foundation), Windrush Farm, and Boston University School of Law. Maridee is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Anthony M. Feeherry; her daughter Elizabeth Feeherry and her son-in-law, David Fish; her siblings Deidre Jacob and Jim Bradbury and their spouses; many nieces and nephews, and her beloved grandchildren, Caroline and William, to whom she was the best "Nana" in the entire world. She was predeceased by her brother, John Bradbury, Jr. She also leaves behind many wonderful friends. Maridee's family wishes to extend their deepest thanks to the people who took such compassionate care of her in the final weeks of her life, especially Tracey Schwartz, R.N., Anne Shannon and Nancy Waddell, the hospice nurses of , and all of the aides from Caring for Caring. A celebration of Maridee's life will be held Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 2:00PM at First Church Wenham, 1 Arbor Street, Wenham, with the Reverend Michael Duda officiating. Following the service, the family invites relatives and friends to share memories and refreshments at the church Fellowship Hall.
