1931 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
FARLEY, Marjorie Ann Fitzgerald Formerly of Framingham, MA, passed away in her home on June 5, 2018 at the age 86, with her dog Katy at her side. Ms. Farley was born August 18, 1931 in Framingham, MA to the late Marjorie McKenna Fitzgerald, and the late Thomas Anthony Fitzgerald. She is also preceded in death by her younger brother, Thomas Anthony Fitzgerald, Jr.

She had a fabulous smile but beneath the smile were many sad tears for her three beloved children who tragically passed before Marge: her sons Patrick and Michael, and her daughter Paige Marie who died on 9/11. Survivors include her brother Francis Fitzgerald (aka Frannie, as Marge called him) and wife, Susan, of East Berlin, CT; and many nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.

Marge studied Business at Becker College and worked in Public Relations at Burdette College. Marjorie served for many years as the Director of University Conferences at Tufts University in Medford, MA and in France. She also worked in computer marketing and was an instructor for John Robert Powers in the Boston area. Prior to moving to St. Simons, Marge volunteered for 4 years with Habitat for Humanity under former President Jimmy Carter.

Upon retiring to St. Simons Island, GA in 1999, she was an active member of the St. Simons Newcomers Club. Ms. Farley was a generous donor to the St. Simon Island Land Trust and many Brunswick Philanthropic organizations. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends in the North and many friends on the island. Marge was an extremely passionate "dog mom" to Katie and many other dogs, so in her memory please consider donating to the National Humane Society at https://secure.humanesociety.org/site/Donation2?df_id=1505&1505.donation=form1&s_src=web_id93480558|web_donatepageD1505_id347404142

She requested to be cremated in a private ceremony. Arrangements are entrusted to Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home and Oglethorpe Crematorium. Marge would want her family and friends to raise a glass to her memory and look for butterflies which always reminded her of her children. A celebration of her life will be held at her home, 195 W. Commons Dr., St. Simons Island, GA on this Saturday, June 16 at 6:00 p.m.
