Obituary Condolences

Of Methuen, formerly of Somerville and Medford passed away quietly on September 4th after a short, courageous battle with Merkel Cell Carcinoma. She was the loving mother of her 7 children Rick Carr & wife Sherrie of MD, Kathy Scanlan & husband Brian of Methuen, Larry Carr & late wife Judith of Lynn, Barbara Brienze of Lynn, Theresa Sanseverino & husband Paul of Methuen, late daughter Diane Gowey & surviving husband Glen of NH, and Dottie Carr of Methuen. She will also be missed by her 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and close friends and relatives including Mary Adamson & husband Don of MD, Mike Sanseverino of Methuen, Phil Brienze of Lynn, brother-in-law Peter Carr, wife Margaret, 3 nieces and 2 nephews of Falmouth. She was an outgoing fun-loving person who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, a multitude of hobbies including gardening, cross stitch and her meetings with her retirees club UFCW Local 1445. She was an avid Red Sox and Bruins fan and attended sporting events whenever possible for youth sports that her grandchildren were involved in. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2-6 PM at the Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, METHUEN. A Funeral Mass will be on Monday, September 11 at 9:00 AM in St. Monica Church, 202 Lawrence St., Methuen. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
