MONHEIMER, Mary Ann (Lanning) 75 , of Watertown, MA, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at home. She was the wife of Howard S. Lipkin. Mary Ann was born in Holyoke, MA, a daughter of the late David B. and Ann (Conway) Lanning. She was a Therapist for the Eliot Community Human Services Inc., before retiring in 2007. She had graduated from Boston College with a Master's Degree in Educational Counseling. Mary Ann has lived in Watertown since 1996, coming from Needham, MA. She was a Therapist for the Asperger's Association of New England; she was devoted to her clients and also worked with Cambodian refugees. She loved the ocean, enjoyed travelling, skiing, needlepoint and knitting. Was an avid gardener, and she also enjoyed cooking. She was also a very involved grandmother to her grandchildren. Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Eric Monheimer and his wife Sheri of Needham, MA, a daughter, Holly Monheimer and her husband Jan-Ivar Bruaroey of Denville, NJ, her sister, Virginia " GiGi" Francis of Warren. She was the aunt of Ann Brimmer, Jan Francis, Kimberly Mello, and Samantha Mello. Mary Ann was the grandmother of Brandon, Jake, and Ashley Monheimer and Oliver Bruaroey. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours on Saturday, December 3, 2016, from 1:00-4:00pm, in the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, WARREN, RI, followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 4:00pm. Burial will be at a later date in the West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, Philadelphia, PA.
