MARY ELIZABETH "BETTY" FAGAN Obituary
FAGAN, Mary Elizabeth "Betty" 96, of Linden Ponds, Hingham, formerly of Duxbury, died on October 27, 2016. She was surrounded by family and caregivers during her passing. Loving wife of the late James Fagan. Devoted mother of James G. Fagan Jr. and his wife Janice and her son Richard both of Plymouth. Betty's son Thomas, daughter-in-law Dianne, sister Ruth Kennedy and brothers Paul and Jack Sullivan pre-deceased her in death. Loving grandmother of Jonathan, Jennifer, Jamie, Jeffrey, Chris, Shawn, Matthew and Chanelle. Great-grandmother of Jack, Brooklyn and Claire. Betty was born in Boston and grew up in Newton. She and her husband Jim were lifelong South Shore residents making their home in Duxbury, Norwell and Pembroke. Betty was affiliated with Jack Conway Real Estate in Hanover for over twenty five years. During her career at Conway Real Estate, she was recognized on several occasions as their leading sales executive. Betty continued in real estate sales for twenty additional years with Thorndike Development. At Thorndike, she helped launch new communities at Marina Bay, Rockland and at the Pine Hills in Plymouth. Betty took tremendous pride in helping young families purchase their first home. Betty loved above all her family. She was a wonderful grandmother who was seen at soccer, football, lacrosse and hockey games, cheering her grandchildren and their teams. She enjoyed taking her family on vacations. Her many family trips to Martha's Vineyard and her ten ocean cruises were legendary and the highlight of the year for her grandchildren. Betty was an active member of Holy Family Parish in Duxbury for over 35 years. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 551 Washington St., Rte. 53, Hanover, on Sunday from 6:30-9PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont St. Rte. 3A, Duxbury. Burial at Mayflower Cemetery, Duxbury.
