Mary Louise Stephenson

STEPHENSON, Dr. Mary Louise Passed away on September 26, 2009 in Peabody. She was born in Brookline in 1921 and spent her life in Marblehead, Mass. Her brother, George Eustis Stephenson survives her as do her nieces Anne Buckley (Mrs. Bruce), Deborah Wysor (Mrs. Philip), Fabry Christy (Mrs. Ray), Kim Fahnley (Mrs. Joel), and Louise Kingston (Mrs. Martyn). She received a PhD. in biochemistry from Harvard Medical School. In 1983 she was appointed an associate professor in biochemistry at Harvard Medical School. For over 40 years she was a Research Fellow in the laboratories of Mass. General Hospital. In collaboration with her associates she published more than 30 articles in professional journals. Some of the papers have been given at national and international conferences on molecular biology, cancer research and the peaceful use of atomic energy. Her friends are invited to a memorial service at the Eastern Yacht Club, Marblehead Neck on Friday, October second at 11:30 AM. Burial will be private.
