(Keefe) Of Bedford, MA, formerly of Waltham, MA, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Mario N. Palmeri. A devoted mother, Mary is survived by her children Suzanne Palmeri of Bedford, MA, Alan Palmeri and wife Cathleen of Pepperell, MA, Gail Palmeri of Belmont, MA, Mario Palmeri, Jr. and wife Laurie of Shoreview, MN and Joyce Costello and husband Patrick of Winchester, MA. Throughout her life, Mary's greatest joy was the love of her family. She deeply loved her children and grandchildren and frequently traveled with her extended family on vacations. She was adored by her eight precious grandchildren, Alan Palmeri, Jonathan Palmeri, Megan Edwards, Bridget Costello, John Costello, Patrick Costello, and Annie Costello. Mary was an avid reader, a passionate fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Patriots, and traveled extensively through Europe and the United States up until the last year of her life. Mary was the loving sister of Virginia (Keefe) Comley and her husband James of Bedford, MA, and the late Joseph P. Keefe and his late wife Barbara Keefe. A funeral mass will be held at Saint Mary's Church, Winchester, MA, Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Private interment at Westview Cemetery, Lexington, MA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mary's name to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Michigan Avenue NE, Northeast, Washington, DC 20017. Mary and Mario Palmeri were devoted to their Catholic faith. As a young couple they were founding donors and remained faithful donors to the Shrine since 1947. A memorial in their honor with their names engraved in stone can be found in the Memorial Hall at the Shrine.
