Obituary Condolences

Harty, Matthew Nunzio
Matthew, who was a student at the Sargent School, will be missed dearly by his mother and father Paul and Sarah (Boyd) Harty, his siblings Rebecca (14), Michael (12) and twin sister Gabrielle (8). Matthew touched many hearts and lives during his valiant fight with mitochondrial disease. Mathew enjoyed spending time at Salisbury beach with his Mema and Papa where he ruled the oceanfront with his many friends along the water. His recent visit with his family and grandparents to Disney World was enjoyed immensely as he spent time with his favorite characters, especially Mary Poppins. Matthew will be welcome with open arms to heaven as he had a very special place in his heart for his Sunday morning visits to "the brown church" at the beach. His winning attitude, perseverance and warm loving and innocent nature will be missed by many. Matthew will be deeply missed by his grandparents Michael and Angela Harty of Salisbury, Glenice and the late Charles Boyd of Bradford as well as his Great Grandmother Eleanor Harty of Andover. His aunts and uncles Mark and Tammy and their children, Austin and Jessica; Phillip and Janet Harty and their children, Brandon, Ryan and Kaitlin; Thomas Boyd and his children, Nicholas and Trevor; and his extended family. A private service will be held before the funeral. A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday at St. Michaels Church in North Andover. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to MitoAction to help support the special families that work through the daily challenges of mitochondrial disease. Donations can be made online at or by sending directly to MitoAction, PO Box 51474, Boston, MA 02205.
