NANCY EDGEHILL PERRY Obituary
PERRY, Nancy Edgehill Of Wellesley and Marion, MA died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on August 13th. She was the devoted wife of Roger A. Perry, Jr., a loving mother, dedicated to her community, and supporter of the arts. She was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Lorus Udall and Pearl Sparks Edgehill, originally of Nephi, Utah. She was a graduate of Tenacre Country Day School and Dana Hall School. She received a BS degree in mathematics from Vassar College in 1949. Nancy generously gave of herself to others and was dedicated to community service. As an active volunteer in the Boston area, she was a Trustee of the Wellesley Free Library, an honorary overseer of the Boston Children's Hospital, active in the League of Women Voters, officer of the Wellesley Garden Study Group, officer of the New England Farm and Garden Association, Deacon Emeritus of the Wellesley Hills Congregational Church, President of Church Women's United of Wellesley, member of the Vassar Club of Boston, tutor for the Boston Public Schools, Treasurer of the Friends of the New England Deaconess Hospital. She was an enthusiastic supporter of the arts through her memberships and volunteer activities at the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Museum of Fine Arts, and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. She also enjoyed sports, both as a spectator and as a participant. She particularly enjoyed playing tennis and sailing. She was a member of the Sippican Tennis Club and the Beverly Yacht Club, both in Marion. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, she will be deeply missed by her husband, Roger A. Perry, Jr, three sons, R. Adams Perry III of Millbrook, NY and his former wife Phoebe of Marion, MA, Mark Edgehill Perry and his wife Susan of Weston, MA, David Goddard Perry and his wife Julie of Wellesley, MA, daughter Charlotte Perry Dougherty and her husband Richard of Lexington, MA, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchilden and sister Norma Edgehill Fleming of Plymouth, MA. She is predeceased by her two brothers, Jack and William Edgehill. A memorial service will be held at the Wellesley Hills Congregational Church on Saturday August 20, 2016 at 10:00 am. A private family burial will be held at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA.
