PATRICIA A. SALMON Obituary
SALMON, Patricia A. Of Marshfield, formerly of Pembroke, passed away at the age of 88 on Saturday, April 16th after several weeks of declining health. She was surrounded by loving family and friends during the last several weeks and passed away in her home amidst family, sunshine and gentle spring breezes. Pat was the shy youngest child of the late Margaret 'Peggy' (Killilea) Lennon and Patrick Lennon. She grew up in Roslindale and was the youngest of four sisters. Her father passed away shortly before her birth but her mother was a woman of uncommon faith, joy and perseverance and she raised her girls to carry those same traits. Growing up 'Patsy' enjoyed the love and affection of her beloved Uncle Jimmy Killilea whose kind and gentle manner she emulated throughout her life. Their household was often host to friends and family newly emigrated from Ireland; that fostered her generous and hospitable spirit. She was married to the late Joseph Salmon for 60 years until his passing in 2012. They moved to Pembroke in 1959 and raised their six children there. She was a patient and loving mother and wife. She was a woman of strong faith and was very active in St. Thecla's Ladies' Sodality and other parish activities for over 40 years. She was blessed with nine grandchildren, all of whom enjoyed many summer days of swimming and good food at 'Granny and Papa's pool'. Pat worked in the Pembroke school system and later in the Pembroke Veterans' Office for many years. She was a talented quilter and enjoyed her Thursday mornings with the Pembroke Quilting Bees for over 20 years. In 2012, Pat moved to Proprietors Green in Marshfield, MA where she embraced many new friends. Her family is very grateful to the staff at Proprietors Green, Comfort Keepers, and Cranberry Hospice. The kindnesses and care they extended will long be remembered. Pat was predeceased by her husband Joseph and her sisters, Mary English and Beatrice Lennon. She leaves her sister, Margaret (Teeny) Lynch of Jamaica Plain, MA, her sisters in law, Mary Salmon of Bass River, MA and Kay Salmon of Chatham, MA, her children, Joseph Salmon, Michael Salmon and his wife Joanne, Mary Henderson and her husband Phil, Martha Salmon, Catherine Salmon, all of Pembroke, and John Salmon and his wife Joanne of Wolfeboro, NH. She leaves nine grandchildren: Kellyanne Simons and her husband Emmett, Kristen Salmon, Michael Salmon and his fiancé Melissa Blake, Patrick Salmon and his wife Jenna, Dr. Oliver Salmon and his wife Devin, Toby Salmon, Benjamin Salmon, Malia Henderson and Zachary Henderson. She also leaves her sweet cherished great grandchildren, many loving nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends.
