85, of Boston, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 24th, after a period of declining health. Born in Medford, he was the son of the late James and Mary (Reedy) Mulligan. Ordained in 1957, Fr. Mulligan was assigned to St. Catherine Church in Westford from 1957-1960, St. Stephen Church in Boston from 1967-1969, director of the Papal Volunteers for Latin America (PAVLA) from 1969-1973, St. Mary Church in Roxbury and Lynn from 1978-1987, Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Brockton from 1991-92, Priestly Renewal Program , Menio Park, CA in 1992, St. Cecilia Church in Ashland from 1992-02, and the Framingham Vicariate, West Region from 2002-07. In addition to his local assignments, Fr. Mulligan spent many years as a missionary, serving in South America from 1960-67 and 1973-78, and Uganda from 1987-1991. He was the brother of the late James T. Mulligan, Ruth M. Riley, John Mulligan, Mary Raimondi, and Edwin Mulligan, who died August 25th. Fr. Mulligan is survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family. A Mass of Christian Burial for Fr. Mulligan, and his brother Edwin Mulligan, will be celebrated Monday, August 29th at 11:00 am in St. Cecilia's Church, 54 Esty St. in Ashland, with burial to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Fr. Mulligan will lie in repose Sunday from 2:00-5:00 PM in St. Cecilia's Church, all are welcome. In lieu of flowers donations may be made, in Fr.
