1940 - 2016 Obituary Condolences
GARDNER, Paul Hunt 76, of Needham, MA was born in Evanston, IL and graduated from high school in Edina, MN. He was a star athlete and played basketball and tennis. His passion for sports continued though his life and he became an avid Boston sports fan. Paul graduated from Principia College in Elsah, IL, and then earned a Divinity Degree at Boston University. He served in Vietnam as an Army Chaplain. After Vietnam, he and his wife Marilyn moved to Boston and he was a devoted Christian Science Practitioner. He served several terms as the First Reader in the Needham Church and on its executive board. Throughout his life, Paul loved to play tennis with the Needham Tennis Club, where he had served as President. He was involved in many local groups including the Needham Clergy Association. Paul was a devoted husband, father, and a friend to all who knew him. He was a steadfast pillar in Needham and devoted his life to serving others. Paul is survived by his wife Marilyn, his daughter Julie, and his brother John of Arlington Heights, IL. Memorial Service Saturday, September 10, 2016, at Eaton Funeral Home in NEEDHAM, MA.
